September Update
All of us no doubt have been watching the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. I know many fans who reside in these areas, my thoughts and prayers to all who have suffered.

MEG Re-release

Because of paper shortages and the hurricane, the re-release of the original MEG novel will begin in mid- September. Amazon.com and Borders Books will probably take shipments first, with the other bookstores following over the coming weeks.

Hydrothermal plumes, discovered in the Atlantic 7 months after MEG first hit bookstores can keep temperatures higher along the sea floor. (the new version of MEG will cite this latest evidence).

GIANT EEL-MUTATION POSSIBLE IN LOCH NESS (Cited in THE LOCH)
New evidence points to Nessie’s species being a giant eel. Two students find a 4-inch barbed tooth in March. Several experts and eel fisherman in the U.K. confirm the tooth pattern matches the palate teeth of Anguillae-form eels.


Loch Ness Monster Skull Tour

Tsunami Books has commissioned a life-size, 7-foot Loch Ness Monster skull, enlarged to size from an existing eel skull, and it’s going on a limited book tour in late October with Steve Alten!

2012 Doomsday Prophecy Documentary

The History Channel has commissioned a new documentary about the Mayan Calendar’s Doomsday Prophecy (December 21st, 2012) and I will be heading down to Chichen Itza in the Yucatan Peninsula to be filmed for the special. As you may know, my third novel DOMAIN and its sequel, RESURRECTION, deal with this frightening prophecy. I will be in the Yucatan for the Fall Equinox, and event marked by the appearance of a giant serpent’s shadow on the Kukulcan Pyramid. Was it an ancient warning? Read DOMAIN.
