Tonja Walker Davidson (“Alex”, One Life to Live) To Produce and
Star in Steve Alten’s Psychological Thriller Stranglehold.

N.Y. Times best-selling author Steve Alten’s thriller, Stranglehold, has been optioned by Tonja Walker Davidson’s production company, TWD Enterprises’, and will begin production in early 2004. Davidson, an Emmy and Tony-nominated actress, also plans to star in the film.

Stranglehold is the story of a distraught detective, accused of murder, who is haunted by a childhood he cannot remember. Steve is excited about the project and comments, “Stranglehold is Sixth Sense meets Primal Fear, a layered psychological drama filled with suspense.”

Alten is managed by Ken Atchity and Chi Li Wong of AEI, who also hold the Dramatic Rights to his International best-seller, MEG, a thriller about a 70-foot prehistoric great white shark (Megalodon) that escapes from its purgatory in the Mariana Trench. Alten’s fourth novel, GOLIATH, the story of a victim of terrorism who hijacks the world’s most dangerous nuclear sub, debuts in mass-market paperback in July.
