Dear Readers

Happy Halloween. My advice: Toss the extra candy before you eat it so you’re not too bloated for Turkey day (this from a guy who just spent the weekend in Atlantic City just so I could eat cheesesteaks at the White House Sub Shop!)

Anyway, here’s the newsletter. Enjoy!

To my fellow Americans - VOTE on Tuesday NOVEMBER 7th !
What’s at stake? Only the on-going war in Iraq, the future of stem cell research, the politics of corruption in DC, who we are as a people, basically the direction we want our great nation to move in. GET OUT AND VOTE! SEND A MESSAGE!

End of the World…again
If you missed the History Channel’s Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday Prophecy (the DOMAIN storyline) then tune in on these dates for the repeat broadcast. Look for yours truly being interviewed at the base of the Kukulcan Pyramid. It’s a great show, one of the highest rated ever on the History Channel.

DATES & TIMES: Thursday November 9th: 9 PM. Friday November 10th 1 AM.

Yes, I finally drank the kool-aid. (If you miss the joke, Google Jim Jones). I also added some cool MEG images you can download.

The SHELL GAME Update
I hope to finalize a publishing deal for The SHELL GAME in November, at which time I can let you know who is publishing the book and when. I hope it’s soon, because scenes from the novel continue hitting the newspapers everyday.

What book is next? Can I be a Character?
If MEG movie gets greenlit in December, then MEG: Hell’s Aquarium will follow The SHELL GAME, along with a big character contest that I would post in the newsletter. However-

--Nick Nunziata (CHUD.com founder and up-and- coming producer) and I are now involved in penning a treatment for a very deep, very exciting, and very gruesome story that could be huge. We are contemplating making it a novel, script, and/or graphic novel/comic. I will let you know soon.

Sorceress vs Phobos: Which comes first…and when?
I will let the reader poll influence my decision on these sequels, but most likely 2008/2009.

LIVING TIPS
My name is Amanda Wood, I am a freshman at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. About 11 years ago I lost my oldest brother, Joshua, in a tragic accident involving a 15 passenger van rolling over. Ever since then I have been trying to close the gaping hole in my life. My family and friends have helped me a great deal. Now that I am in college and, obviously, grown up a whole lot. Over all of the years I have looked up as much information about the safety hazards there are in 15 passenger vans. My mother was even on 60 Minutes; the episode was so popular, they aired it again on 60 Minutes II. At Coastal they use the 15 passenger vans for everything. So, I feel it is my duty to open the eyes of the administration here. I am creating a presentation on how dangerous the 15 passenger vans are and I hope to take it to the Dean and talk him into getting rid of the 15 passenger vans and replacing them with a safer vehicle. Here is some information that I think will help everyone and hopefully keep them all safer. First of all, if it can be avoided, do not ride in the 15 passenger vans. The 15 passenger vans are unstable. The extended cab behind the rear axle makes it very top heavy. So, when the driver has to swerve to miss something it causes the huge van to tip and roll. If you have to ride in the van, then here are some suggestions:

1. Check the tires regularly, every other week.
2. Always wear your seat belt.
3. Get a driver that is trained and aware of the unique capabilities of the van.
4. NEVER put more than 10 occupants in the van. When 10 or more occupants are in the van it causes the van's rollover to increase 3 times!

Hopefully with these simple tips everyone will be just a little bit safer. I do not want anyone else to go through what I had to go through with losing a brother. I watched it tear my mother to pieces, knowing she lost her first son! I pray that this might change someone's mind and might actually save their life. If you or anyone else would like more information, they can contact me at acwood@coastal.edu
