November 2005 Update


Readers:
It was great meeting many of you on my two- week “Loch Ness Monster Skull” book tour. Unfortunately while I was away, my area was clobbered by Hurricane Wilma. The roof was damaged, the fence bent, and the wind actually picked up and tossed a 150 pound barbecue grill, but the family’s okay. Hopefully my fellow South Florida residents are faring better. Here’s your November update:

The new MEG NOVEL

The new MEG paperback has been released and is in major bookstores and on Amazon.com. Look for the Meg vs T-Rex scene on the front cover art. The book received a major re-write, with extended scenes and chapters, and some character changes. No, it’s not the movie, but it’s far better than the original novel.

MEG MOVIE UPDATE:

New Line Cinema is finalizing a budget, and soon the movie should be officially in pre-production. That’s when they’ll start casting. Let New Line Cinema know what you think at the MEG IMDB website. Go to IMDB.com and search for MEG. Or go to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450459

Character Contest UPDATE

As many of you know, all of the minor (and many major) characters in my novels are actually REAL FANS who have won CHARACTER CONTESTS. There’s a new contest on, here’s how you can enter and win IMMORTALITY...at least in the printed word.

E-Mail me at Meg82159@aol.com with the following information.

1. In the SUBJECT line of the e-mail write CHARACTER CONTEST.
2. Give me a description of yourself, everything you’d want me to write about you. (Include your full name and any nicknames).
3. Tell me how you will help me promote The LOCH in your community. EXAMPLES: You know a free lance writer at your local paper who will do a feature article, you will call a local FM Radio Morning Show, you will tell co-workers in a newsletter, etc.
4. Check you did Steps 1-3 correctly. If not, you get filed in the wastebasket.

I will select 30-50 winners who will appear as characters in my next novel, THE SHELL GAME (most likely an Aug. 2006 release). As I write the book, I will select winners and begin announcing them in December’s newsletters. REMEMBER: If you tell me what you are going to do, you must follow thru. I will ANNOUNCE WINNERS each month as I write the novel, so PLEASE don’t keep sending me e-mails asking if you made it. When I get your entry, I will acknowledge it. If you hit me with an idea that blows me away, I may let you know right away. (Some of you already know).

And yes...there WILL BE another contest for characters in MEG 4: Hell’s Aquarium. And yes, I know, I know...YOU WANT TO BE EATEN. (You guys are a sick bunch...)
