In the last newsletter, I told you about the importance of supporting my new release, The SHELL GAME, and you responded. The book hit # 31 on the NY Times best-seller's list then slipped back a few notches off the list.
WHY IS THE SHELL GAME SO IMPORTANT?
Because the events of 9/11, perpetrated by our own government, represent a turning point in history, propelling our nation down a dark path outlined by the Neo-Conservative document: Project for a New American Century. This agenda, which has thus far led us into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, is far from finished.
Over the last few weeks, several extremely disturbing plot points in the novel have come to light in real life and you need to be aware!
1. Two weeks ago, Michael Chertoff, head of Homeland Security, essentially told reporters that he fears the next 9/11, which could be a suitcase nuke. Then last week, in threatening to veto a waterboarding ban, Bush let slip, and I quote, "terrorists are planning new attacks on our country that will make Sept. 11 pale by comparison."
2. Now in place are Executive Orders NSPD51 & HSPD20 directives that would place the United States under total Martial Law and Military Dictatorship in the event of another attack. This Executive Order allows the President to declare a National Emergency and freeze everything including a national election. Congress is powerless to prevent such an Executive Dictatorship, as long as the President advises Congress in a timely matter.

3. It was also recently announced that Haliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root had been awarded a $385 million dollar contract by Homeland Security to construct detention and processing facilities in the event of a national emergency. (Over 600 camps have already been erected and staffed!) The language of the preamble to the agreement veils the program with talk of temporary migrant holding centers, but it is made clear that the camps will also be used "as the development of a plan to react to a national emergency." Under the enemy combatant designation anyone at the behest of the US government, even if they are a US citizen, can be arrested and placed in an internment facility as long as it is deemed necessary without trial. Having read this, most of you who have NOT read The SHELL GAME will probably think I am either a) a conspiracy theorist b) just trying to sell more books (I am, but not for the reasons you may think) or c) Alten is seriously off his rocker. So I want you to look each point up for yourself, then read the book, and you will understand what is happening. What can you do? Simple: EXPOSE THE CON BEFORE IT HAPPENS. The SHELL GAME is a valuable tool to open the public's eyes because it factually details the parallels we are NOW going through in a fast-paced thriller. If The SHELL GAME hits top 10 on the NY Times best seller list, then grocery chains and drug stores do automatic buy-ins. Major media will be harder pressed to give us coverage (major networks have issued a blackout on all 9/11 truth related news).
Let's keep the fiction FICTION!
1. Read the book. Like so many others, you will see the power of the story.

Identity Theft
Jury Duty Scam : This has been verified by the FBI. Most of us take those summonses
for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty, that
a new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced. The caller claims to be a jury
coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty,
the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he
or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any
of this information and bingo; your identity was just stolen. The fraud has
been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma, Illinois, and Colorado.
This (swindle) is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over
the phone to try to bully people into giving information by pretending they
are with the court system. The FBI and the federal court system have issued
nationwide alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud.
Publishing Schedule
I am in the process of completing a publishing deal involving MEG, THE LOCH
(mass market paperback) and MEG: Hell's Aquarium. Our tentative schedule:
a) Re-release MEG in paperback immediately (April 2008)
b) Release THE LOCH in mass market paperback (Halloween 2008)
c) Release MEG: Hell's Aquarium in hardback (May 2009)

Be afraid, be very afraid, February 7, 2008 This is one of the scariest, but very entertaining, thrillers I've ever read, mostly because it has lots of facts and connects a lot of dots, and is very plausible. Steve Alten has digested a lot of info about 9/11 and come to conclusions that any sane, thinking person would reasonably come to after impartially evaluating the evidence, that 9/11 was either an inside job or an enabled job in order to provide a "new Pearl Harbor" to facilitate the well-known neo-con goals of complete US control of declining mid-East oil. Alten plays out a scenario in 2011 where a much worse "black flag" operation partially succeeds with much more horrific results. Lots of plot and action and not a lot of character development, but this is not a literary novel. It's really a thoughtful, courageous wake-up call which will keep you riveted and maybe up all night with a sense of real forboding and not-irrational fear for our country and its future in the months ahead.
Important Book For Our Time, February 17, 2008 Prior to the release of The Shell Game, I had the opportunity of reading Crossing the Rubicon by Michael Ruppert. That book totally changed my paradigm of the world and of this country.
As soon as I heard that The Shell Game was a novel based off of information given in Crossing the Rubicon, I bought it immediately. Having just finished reading this excellent book, I must say that it's an amazing work on the part of Mr. Alten. He is able to cram in so much real life and accurate information into a "fiction" that is captivating to the reader.
Regardless of whether or not you like this book, the facts remain the same:
1) We are entering an era where oil will be a scarcity.
2) Unless we put into place an alternative energy source infrastructure, we
are in serious trouble.
3) 9/11 was an inside job used as a launching pad in the so-called "War
on Terror". A war that has nothing to do with "terror" but everything
to do with oil.
For the sake of the future of humanity, I pray that we will do what needs to be done not only to restore our once great Republic but also to seriously address and resolve the inevitable oil crisis facing us.
